To give a boost to sports development in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR), Chief Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that there will be the construction of multiple football stadiums across the 6th Schedule region, including a Rs. 125 crore stadium in Kokrajhar.
Stadium construction in Kokrajhar will begin this year and will likely be completed in three years.Udalguri, Chirang, Tamulpur, and Baksa districts will too have football stadiums.
These announcements were made during the closing ceremony of the Bodoland CEM Cup Football Tournament 2025, which was held at the SAI Stadium in Kokrajhar on Tuesday.
